ARthur Umbrella

Tiger, Leno, Palin, Paris… the ENTIRE cast of the Jersey Shore, Boston musician Arthur Nasson has a message for you – “Don’t Be A Douche Bag.” In this time of uncertainty, Americans are clamoring for an act of public reassurance and TGS and Arthur Nasson are reaching out to a nation in troubled times in an attempt to offer hope for a brighter future.

A focal track from Nasson’s recent album False Prophets, “Don’t Be A Douche Bag” can be interpreted by many as simply an underground artist’s reply to the mainstream media and pop-culture in general, but Nasson is focusing more at the bigger picture.

I’m looking to gather enough support to propose legislation to have ‘Don’t Be A Douche Bag’ replace the national anthem,” submits Arthur.  “What better advice is there to lead a nation?!”

Arthur Nasson has licensed two entire albums to MTV’s “Made” and “My Super Sweet Sixteen” and over 200 radio stations are currently playing his music, with more being added every week.  Nasson has been featured on NPR’s “Here and Now” and KALX’s “The Next Big Thing” w/ Marshall Stax and plans to tour the North East with his 12-year old son on drums in 2010.

False Prophets sounds like something John Lennon might have done. It’s varied, but cohesive; melodic, but adventurous. In an ideal world, Nasson would find mainstream success. But if he did, he wouldn’t have all that time to spend at home – or the chance to give his adolescent Bonzo live performance experience.”
- Jim Sullivan, Boston Herald

Like an unhinged Dylan hammering a jazz piano, Nasson has a great ear for a tune and seems to be willing to try anything once in order to make one, resulting in a fine burst of aural entertainment.”
