New York, NY – Toronto’s Dearly Beloved release their U.S. debut Make It Bleed TODAY on Zoë/Rounder Records. Their hometown publication EXCLAIM! MAG has already championed the album.
“With a sound that simultaneously gives nods to Higgins’ Can-Rock past with Change Of Heart and Rocket Science, and the current alt-rock auteurism professed by Jack White and Josh Homme, ‘Make It Bleed’ firmly captures all of Dearly Beloved’s initial promise.”
- Jason Schneider, EXCLAIM! Mag

Dearly Beloved began in 2006 when Rob Higgins, songwriter-musician-producer-radio host, and a couple of like-minded friends, pooled their talents. Originally an outlet for the negative energy stemming from his father’s passing, the music eminently started to blossom once Higgins began collaborating among others with deep roots in the Toronto rock community.
Dearly Beloved forge ahead musically and will be releasing new, individual tracks (both regularly & irregularly) with different producers through Rounder in the coming months. First up will be “Kentucky,” a track produced by Broken Social Scene’s Brendan Canning. Keep an eye out for that track to be released soon.
Continuing with his fountain of creativity, Higgins begins his ‘desert sessions’ in May at David Catching’s (Eagles Of Death Metal) studio near Joshua Tree outside of LA. Brendan McGuire (Sloan) will be engineering the recordings in this desert locale where Higgins first found solace and experienced a spiritual and creative awakening following his father’s passing.
Dearly Beloved is Rob Higgins, Niva Chow and Gavin Maguire and Make It Bleed is out TODAY on Zoë/Rounder Records

“The grit of old school punk, the guitars of the new rock revival and a touch of the Velvet Underground. A worthy addition to the indie scenester’s collection.”
