THE ART OF SHOOTING “Japanese” video and free download
New York, NY – Brooklyn’s THE ART OF SHOOTING released their full-length debut Traveling Show last week and now offer the first video from the album with “JAPANESE.” The dreamy cut is a third-person omniscient narrative of one’s self-imposed prisons that seem easy to escape to others, yet are horribly crippling from within.
Directed by Brooklyn filmmaker Scott Clemens, who’s worked with Scout Niblett and Patrick Bower & the World Without Magic, “Japanese” shows the protagonist engulfing herself in a cocoon of string until a friend easily breaks away the barriers she created within herself.

Tomorrow (Fri, May 7th,) The Art Of Shooting will be hosting a “Japanese” video release party and album listening party at Fort Useless in Bushwick. TAOS will perform acoustic along with special performances from Quilty and Caitlin Cannon Eddins, performing their own material as well as covering tunes from The Art Of Shooting’s recent release Traveling Show. Fort Useless is at 36 Ditmars Street in Brooklyn, one block from the Myrtle Avenue/Broadway stop on the JMZ trains
The quartet will then head south for a bit before returning to Brooklyn for hometown performances Wednesday, May 19 @ Glasslands Gallery with Spanish Prisoners and Friday, May 21 @ Union Hall with Visqueen and Luff.
Art of Shooting’s Traveling Show recently received a 3 star review from Venus Zine
“On Traveling Show, the debut album from Brooklyn’s the Art of Shooting, the best moments come in the form of shoegaze-y songs like ‘One Minute Love Song’ (which is actually three minutes and twelve seconds). But don’t be fooled by the shoegaze label; this is a band that knows how to turn up the guitars and rock.”
